Taryn Nixon OBE
Hobley’s Heroes is more than happy to celebrate the welcome news that Taryn Nixon was awarded an OBE in the King’s New Years Honours list.
She worked for the DUA and, after its untimely demise in 1991, the Museum of London Archaeology Service, which she subsequently directed. In 2011, she then had to negotiate the tricky transformation of that organisation into MOLA, which (in spite of its name) was no longer financially dependent on the Museum of London. Having successfully achieved that, she served as their CEO for the next 19 years, unquestionably the most capable holder of that post. Not one to embrace a quiet life, she then went on to work as, for example, the committee Chair for the Heritage Fund for England, London & South East region. All we can say is, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
